Launch new.space

It's free, no credit card necessary.

General

What is new.space?

new.space is the easiest, fastest way to securely share links, notes, and files, get feedback, and plan what's next. Use a single Space — with everything side-by-side — to tame the chaos of tabs, docs, videos, and files spread across too many apps and services.

new.space is available in your browser everywhere and on your iPhone. It is free to use anonymously, to create short-lived spaces to share with anyone. Create a free account to make spaces that do not expire, and upgrade to Space+ for additional features, AI credits, and up to 100GB of storage with the Jupiter tier.

Is there an iOS app?

Yes. Visit new.space/app to download new.space for iOS from the App Store.

Is there an Android app?

new.space is a PWA (progressive web app) and can be installed to your Android homescreen right from Chrome.

Is there an iPad app?

While new.space for iOS will install and run on an iPad, the best experience today is to install the PWA (progressive web app) at new.space to the iPad's homescreen.

To install new.space to your iPad's Home Screen, first visit new.space in Safari on your iPad. Tap the system share button and select "Add to Home Screen". After doing so, you'll see the new.space icon on your iPad next to all your other apps.

How do I create a new shared space? Do I need an account?
  • Open a new browser tab and visit new.space to get a fresh space. That's it; no signup or account is required.
  • You can add links to articles, photos from a recent trip, or documents to discuss in your next meeting – a space can contain any type of content. Plus, everything added to a space is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot see the content you are sharing.
  • Signing up for a free account will allow you to see all of your spaces on all of your devices and will allow you to create spaces that do not expire.
What do I get with a free new.space account?

A free account allows one to sign into all their devices and see the same list of spaces everywhere. Spaces created by an Account do not expire. Free accounts come with 5GB of base storage and 50 AI credits per month.

When you need more features, you can upgrade to Space+, which offers three tiers:

  • Space+ Moon ($1.99/month): 5GB storage, 100 AI credits, local AI models
  • Space+ Mars ($4.99/month): 5GB storage, 251 AI credits, local AI models
  • Space+ Jupiter ($9.99/month): 100GB storage, 505 AI credits, local AI models

Brainstorms & AI

What is new.space AI?

new.space AI is our integrated AI provider that makes it easy to use Brainstorms without managing your own API keys. With new.space AI, you get monthly AI credits based on your subscription level:

  • Free: 50 AI credits per month
  • Moon ($1.99/month): 100 AI credits per month
  • Mars ($4.99/month): 251 AI credits per month
  • Jupiter ($9.99/month): 505 AI credits per month

We've integrated with many AI providers including ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Each model uses a different number of credits based on its cost.

What are local models?

Local models run directly on your device without sending any data to external servers. When using local models:

  • Your data never leaves your device
  • No AI credits are consumed
  • Available with Moon, Mars, and Jupiter subscriptions
  • Requires iPhone 14 or newer

Local models are perfect for sensitive content or when you want complete privacy.

What is a Brainstorm?

A Brainstorm is an exciting new type of item that can be added to a Space which enables users to ask questions and gain insights about content within a Space. It is powered by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and more!

You can use Brainstorms in two ways:

  1. With new.space AI: Simply choose from our integrated AI models and use your monthly AI credits. No API keys needed!
  2. With your own API keys: Add your API key for ChatGPT and/or Claude, then your device will communicate directly to their APIs.
How do AI credits work?

AI credits are used when you create Brainstorms with new.space AI. Different AI models cost different amounts of credits:

  • GPT 4.1-nano: 1 credit
  • GPT 4.1-mini: 4 credits
  • Claude 3.5 Haiku: 5 credits
  • Claude Sonnet 4: 25 credits
  • Claude Opus 4.1: 75 credits

Your monthly credits reset at the beginning of each billing period.

Can I use my own API key?

Yes! You can bring your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or other providers. When you use your own key:

  • Requests go directly from your device to the AI provider
  • We never see your prompts or responses
  • No AI credits are consumed
  • You pay the provider directly based on your usage

This is a great option if you already have API access or want complete control over your AI usage.

Privacy & Security

What does end-to-end encrypted mean?

End-to-end encryption means that your content is encrypted on your device before it's sent to our servers, and can only be decrypted by you and the people you share with. We cannot see your content, even if we wanted to.

Check out our more detailed End-to-encryption FAQ.

Is my data private?

Yes. Everything in new.space is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot see your content. When using cloud AI, providers promise not to train on your data—we use their APIs with those protections enabled. Local AI models keep everything on your device.

Are Brainstorms private?

Like all content in new.space, your Brainstorms are end-to-end encrypted. When using new.space AI, we act as a transparent, streaming proxy—nothing is logged or persisted on our servers. Your data is only sent to the AI providers you choose, when you choose.

When you use their APIs, both OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) agree to not use your content to train their AI models.
